The 2nd House
This is the house of possessions and is the second of the twelve houses of the zodiac. The planets and signs that are located in this succedent house on the birth chart influence the value the individual will put on physical possessions and on personal self-worth, throughout their life.
The natural sign ruler is Taurus, the second zodiac sign on the horoscope wheel, and the planetary ruler is Venus, the planet of pleasure from possessions, beauty and refinement.
This house looks at how an individual translates their own personal value through the physical and intangible possessions they amass in life.
The activity in this house covers a person’s relation with everything that is material in their close environment, as well as how indulgent the person is.
This house looks at how the individual uses their possessions for further advantage in life and for the betterment of the lives of others.
On the other hand, debt is also part of this house along with savings, financial hardship or success.
A person, however, owns other intangible things such as emotions, feelings and dreams. These, along needs and wants are influenced by the planets visiting this house.
Personal set of values
One is also responsible over what they believe in, what values and principles they take ownership of and how the use those. This house also governs personal freedom, whether this is derived from vast material possession or from a strong self-awareness.
The individual is prompted to take a step back and look at what they treasure, be it their own, their thoughts, the recognition they receive or the relationships they have.
The lessons to be learned revolve around how one can understand their personal concepts of value and how they can convert what they have, material or not, in something that can serve them and those around.
